Trump wasn’t given notice about Ukraine attack on Russian planes, report claims

  • The White House was not given advance notice of Ukraine's 'large-scale' drone attack that destroyed a fleet of about 40 Russian military bombers.
  • The drone attack, which targeted five bases deep inside Russian territory, took over a year and a half to plan and was personally supervised by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
  • Ukrainian officials launched drones from trucks covertly parked near Russian air bases, some as far away as Siberia.
  • The attack occurred as Mr Zelensky announced he would send a delegation to conduct ceasefire talks with Russia in Istanbul.
  • The drone strike happened as seven people were killed and 69 more injured after bridges collapsed in separate incidents across Russia.
