As the second day of former President Donald Trump's criminal trial comes to a close, both the prosecution and defense teams have been actively utilizing their peremptory strikes to select jurors.
The Manhattan District Attorney's team used six of their strikes on Tuesday, leaving them with four remaining strikes. Similarly, Trump's defense lawyers also used six strikes today and have four strikes left in their arsenal.
Aside from peremptory strikes, attorneys have the option to argue to strike jurors for cause. The defense successfully exercised this option twice on Tuesday.
The court proceedings will resume on Thursday, as there are no sessions scheduled for Wednesdays.
With seven jurors already seated, the trial is progressing steadily as both sides carefully select jurors to ensure a fair and impartial trial.
