Trump trashes his native NY as 'dirty & unsafe' after announcing he's leaving the city for Florida

NEW YORK _ He's in a New York state of ire.

President Donald Trump threw his native city under the bus Friday, calling it "dirty & unsafe" and blasting Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio as police-hating partisan hacks bent on destroying him.

"New York can never be great again under the current leadership of Governor Andrew Cuomo (the brother of Fredo), or Mayor Bill DeBlasio," Trump tweeted, misspelling the governor's surname and using a derisive moniker for Cuomo's CNN anchor sibling, Chris.

"Cuomo has weaponized the prosecutors to do his dirty work (and to keep him out of jams) ... NYC is getting dirty & unsafe again, as our great police are being disrespected, even with water dumped on them, because a Mayor and Governor just don't 'have their backs," the president added.

Despite trashing just about every aspect of the city, Trump capped off his Twitter tirade: "I Love New York!"

The irate slights came on the heels of Trump's announcement that he's making his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida his permanent residence after having spent his entire life as a New York City resident.

A spokeswoman for Cuomo did not return a request for comment. It's unclear what the president referred to in claiming Cuomo has used prosecutors "to keep him out of jams."

Despite Trump's claims, crime rates in the city have been declining for years.

De Blasio pointed that out in a tweet punching back at Trump's missive.

"Crime's at record lows, jobs are at record highs and you just announced you're moving away so I'd say it's never been a better time to be a New Yorker," the mayor posted.

Trump said Thursday that he had decided to become a full-time Florida resident because he's upset that he has to pay high taxes while battling investigations into his company and other entities from state prosecutors.

"I have been treated very badly by the political leaders of both the city and state. Few have been treated worse," Trump tweeted. "Few have been treated worse."
