Trump to rebrand Pentagon as part of ‘warrior ethos’ campaign

President Donald Trump is set to sign an executive order on Friday to officially rename the Department of Defense as the Department of War.
The name change is part of the Trump administration's 'warrior ethos' campaign, which has included banning books at military bases and ordering a name change for the USNS Harvey Milk.
Both Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth have argued that the US achieved more victories under the previous 'Department of War' designation.
The order will also change Hegseth's title to Secretary of War.
The Department of Defense was established in 1949, replacing the Department of War after the Second World War.
