Donald Trump will make his first public appearance since leaving the White House at a conservative political conference in Florida later this month.

The ex-president will take part in the annual Conservative Political Conference on 28 February in Orlando, reports CNN.

“Also look for the 45th President to take on President Biden’s disastrous amnesty and border policies,” a source told the news network.

In his highly-anticipated speech, the former president is expected to talk about the future of the  Republican Party and conservative movement.

In addition to Mr Trump, CPAC will also see appearances from pro-Trump GOP figures such as former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Mr Trump had kept a low-profile since he left office on 20 January, but did a media blitz last week following the death of right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh.

During a string of interviews on friendly outlets such as Newsmax, OANN and Fox News, Mr Trump talked about how good 2024 polls looked for him, without saying he planned to run for president again.

“As far as ‘24 it is too early to say but I see a lot of great polls out there that’s for sure,” said Mr Trump on Newsmax when he was asked if he would seek office.

And he added: “Well we have tremendous support, I won’t say yet, but we have tremendous support.

“I am looking at poll numbers that are through the roof. Only I could get impeached and my numbers go up.

“The numbers are very good and very high, they are higher than before the election.”

Mr Trump has spoken at the CPAC event several times and his appearance is expected to close out this year’s event, which begins on 25 February.
