- President Donald Trump is scheduled to deliver an “important update on Iran” in a prime-time address on Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.
- Trump claimed earlier Wednesday that Iran asked for a ceasefire, writing, “Iran’s New Regime President, much less Radicalized and far more intelligent than his predecessors, has just asked the United States of America for a CEASEFIRE!”
- He continued on Truth Social, “We will consider when Hormuz Strait is open, free, and clear. Until then, we are blasting Iran into oblivion or, as they say, back to the Stone Ages!!!”
- Trump said Tuesday that the month-long conflict in the Middle East will conclude within “two to three weeks” and he insisted oil prices will come “tumbling down” once the U.S. leaves Iran.
- The president said Tehran does not need to make a deal with Washington, but must be “put into the Stone Ages” to prevent acquiring a nuclear weapon.
