  • Trump's remarks followed James's announcement that he would continue his NBA career by joining the Philadelphia 76ers.
  • Trump was asked whether James, who publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election, or Michael Jordan was the best-ever basketball player
  • “Michael Jordan is a guy that’s a friend of mine,” Trump said. “I play golf with him. He’s a really good guy. I think LeBron is, maybe he’s a racist, but maybe he doesn’t like Trump ... I would say Michael Jordan all the way.”
  • Trump had previously mocked James in 2020 after he campaigned for Joe Biden, prompting crowds at a rally in Pennsylvania to chant “LeBron James sucks”.
