President Trump embraced his bromance with Kanye West on Friday, tweeting that the rapper has "performed a great service to the Black Community [sic]" by voicing his support of the commander-in-chief.
"Kanye West has performed a great service to the Black Community _ Big things are happening and eyes are being opened for the first time in Decades _ Legacy Stuff!" he tweeted. "Thank you also to Chance and Dr. Darrell Scott, they really get it (lowest Black & Hispanic unemployment in history)."
West has drawn criticism this week following a series of tweets in support of black conservative speaker Candace Owens and Trump, saying that "the mob" could not stop him from loving Trump.
"We are both dragon energy. He is my brother," West tweeted of the president.
Trump's re-election team jumped at the chance to raise funds off of West's support.
"We support Kanye speaking his mind, even if sometimes we do not agree on the issues," the Trump campaign texted supporters in a fund-raising message.
Kanye, meanwhile, has taken to sharing private texts he's received from concerned friends about his MAGA-loving ways.
The "Famous" rapper tweeted out a string of texts Thursday he'd received from pal John Legend, who took the time to urge the star to reconsider his praising of Trump.
"Hey it's JL. I hope you'll reconsider aligning yourself with Trump. You're way too powerful and influential to endorse who he is and what he stands for," the texts from Legend read.
"As you know, what you say really means something to your fans. They are loyal to you and respect your opinion. So many people who love you feel so betrayed right now because they know the harm that Trump's policies cause, especially to people of color. Don't let this be part of your legacy. You're the greatest artist of our generation."
West didn't take too kindly to his pal's suggestions.
He texted back that while he appreciated Legend's thoughts, he felt the "All of Me" star was manipulating his "free thought."
"I love you John and I appreciate your thoughts," he wrote. "You bringing up my fans or my legacy is a tactic based on fear used to manipulate my free thought."
West explained he shared the private conversation to show the world that even members of his inner circle aren't on board his Trump train.
"I respect everyone's opinion but I stand my ground," he wrote. "If you feel something don't let peer pressure manipulate you."
