Trump says US has 'massive amounts' of munitions, warns action against 'leakers'

In a post on Truth Social, Trump dismissed concerns over US munitions availability and said additional supplies were being manufactured and delivered as required.

"The US has massive amounts of “munitions,” especially of certain types. Additionally, large amounts are being manufactured and shipped to the US as needed. Defense companies are building the largest number of plants and factories in our country’s history. The “leakers” of these treasonous statements are being hunted down. Long term jail sentences will be sought!" Trump wrote.

The remarks come amid reports questioning the state of US missile and ammunition stockpiles following months of military operations, including the conflict with Iran. Trump has repeatedly defended the country's military readiness and has sought to reassure allies about the US defence industrial base.

His latest statement also signals a crackdown on officials accused of leaking sensitive information related to US military capabilities, with the president describing the alleged disclosures as "treasonous" and warning that authorities were pursuing those responsible.
