Trump says Reflecting Pool vandalism ‘probably’ inspired by old foe

President Donald Trump has suggested that graffiti reading "86 47" at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was "probably" inspired by former FBI director James Comey.
The Department of Justice previously charged Comey over an Instagram post showing seashells spelling "86 47," alleging it constituted an assassination threat against the president.
Comey has denied all charges and asked a federal judge to dismiss the case, arguing the prosecution's claims lack common sense.
Trump criticised U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro on Truth Social for dropping indictments against people accused of vandalizing the Reflecting Pool’s $14.7 million renovation.
He also acknowledged contractor errors in the project and announced the monument would reopen shortly, equipped with new security cameras.
