Trump says alligators could police migrants at ‘escape-proof’ center

  • President Donald Trump has unveiled a new "escape-proof" detention center in the Florida Everglades, which was built in eight days at a disused airstrip.
  • During the visit, Trump suggested using alligators as natural barriers for detention centers.
  • Trump also proposed creating a "system" of detention camps across multiple states and endorsed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis's plan to use National Guard soldiers as immigration judges to expedite deportations.
  • The president floated the controversial idea of deporting criminal US citizens, stating that "many of them were born in our country" and should be removed.
  • During the visit, Trump referred to President Joe Biden as a "son of a bitch".
