Trump's Team Files Election Lawsuit In Michigan

Former U.S. President Trump holds a campaign rally ahead of New Hampshire primary election, in Atkinson

Trump-controlled version of the Republican National Committee has hired lawyers Charlie Spies and Christina Bobb, known for promoting election conspiracy theories. Bobb, a Trump favorite, has been appointed as senior counsel for election integrity. The legal team has initiated a series of election-related lawsuits, starting with Michigan, a state Trump lost by a narrow margin in 2020.

The lawsuit alleges that Michigan has deceased individuals still registered to vote, despite the state's active efforts to cancel registrations of deceased voters. Michigan Secretary of State, Jocelyn Benson, emphasized that the state has significantly improved voter roll accuracy in recent years and dismissed the lawsuit as a political strategy to undermine confidence in elections.

Benson highlighted that Michigan, being a key battleground state, is likely to face continued scrutiny and legal challenges in the upcoming election cycle. She reassured voters that despite the lawsuits, the truth about the state's secure elections will prevail.

The legal actions targeting Michigan are seen as part of a broader strategy to cast doubt on election integrity. Similar tactics are expected to be employed in other battleground states like Nevada and Arizona. Benson warned against deceptive tactics aimed at eroding citizens' trust in the electoral process and emphasized that election results will reflect the will of the people.
