United States first lady Melania Trump has revealed her 14-year-old son Barron had tested positive for the coronavirus but had no symptoms and has since tested negative.
The White House initially said Barron had tested negative after both of his parents tested positive earlier this month.
The first lady said in a statement that subsequent testing showed Barron had also come down with COVID-19.
"My fear came true when he was tested again, and it came up positive," she said.
"Luckily, he is a strong teenager and exhibited no symptoms."
The first lady also confirmed she has since tested negative to the virus.
"I was very fortunate as my diagnosis came with minimal symptoms, though they hit me all at once," she said.
"I experienced body aches, a cough and headaches, and felt extremely tired most of the time."
In her statement, she advocated for living a healthy lifestyle to overcome COVID-19.
"I encourage everyone to continue to live the healthiest life they can," she said.
"A balanced diet, fresh air, and vitamins really are vital to keep our bodies healthy."
