Donald Trump’s “body man” has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to reports.

Nicholas Luna, an aide to the president, was first confirmed to have Covid-19 by Bloomberg.

Mr Luna’s diagnosis comes after Mr Trump and his wife Melania announced that they were positive for the virus in the early hours of Friday.

The president is currently being treated at Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre in Bethesda, Maryland.

The duties of a so-called “body man” can vary but the role typically demands that they are in close proximity to the president, carrying official papers and pens for autographs.

Mr Luna travelled to Cleveland with Mr Trump on Tuesday for his presidential debate with Democratic nominee Joe Biden and then on his trip to Minnesota, where another aide, Hope Hicks, had symptoms, Bloomberg reported.

He was due to travel to Mr Trump’s New Jersey golf club for a Thursday fundraiser but stayed back as he had come in close proximity to Ms Hicks.

Mr Luna is the latest of the president’s inner circle to test positive for the coronavirus. Advisor Kellyanne Conway, former New Jersey governor Chris Christie and campaign manager Bill Stepien have also confirmed they have Covid-19.
