What is the worst-case scenario for the European film industry if Trump's tariffs are enforced. And how could the EU respond? We asked Juliette Prissard of Eurocinema, representing Brussels film producers.
US filmmakers have for years turned their backs on Hollywood in favour of foreign shooting destinations to save costs. Trump now wants to put an end to this. He is considering doing so by imposing 100% tariffs on foreign films, which he went as far as calling “National Security threats”.
This decision sent shockwaves throughout the industry, even if the details remain unclear. Is this more of Trump "flip-flopping" on tariffs?
In this episode, we also look at the start of the Conclave to elect the next pope in the Vatican, and the EU countries with the highest salaries.
