Trump's False Claims About Security And Access At Courthouse

Donald Trump to testify in New York civil fraud trial

Former President Donald Trump made false claims about security and access at the Manhattan courthouse where his criminal hush money trial is taking place. Trump stated that security at the courthouse is as tight as Fort Knox and that his supporters, known as MAGA, would not be able to attend the trial. However, these claims have been proven to be inaccurate.

While there are indeed security measures in place around the courthouse, such as street closures and barricades, individuals are allowed to drive up to the front of the courthouse and enter the building. The courthouse remains open to the public, and individuals who arrive early enough in the morning can access the trial courtroom or the overflow room that broadcasts near-live video of the proceedings.

Contrary to Trump's assertions, his supporters are not barred from the courthouse. The designated protest zone for the trial is located in a park directly across the street from the courthouse. Only a small number of Trump supporters have actually shown up to demonstrate near the building.

It is important to note that despite Trump's claims, the courthouse is accessible to the public, and security measures are in place to ensure the safety of all individuals attending the trial. The misinformation spread by Trump regarding security and access to the courthouse has been debunked, highlighting the importance of fact-checking and verifying information before drawing conclusions.
