Trump's doctor says he tested negative for Covid-19 on 'consecutive days' - but doesn't say which

Donald Trump's doctor says the President has tested negative for Coronavirus on "consecutive days" - but doesn't say which days.

The President's physician, Dr Sean Conley, who has previously admitted to applying a positive spin to medical reports in order to keep his patient happy, released the information as Trump headed to Florida for a massive rally.

"I release the following information with the permission of President Donald J Trump," he wrote.

"I can share with you that he has tested NEGATIVE, on consecutive days, using the Abbot BinaxNOW antigen card."

The Binax test is a 15 minute, quick turnaround test - and is slightly less accurate than a standard lab-based test.

Dr Conley added: "It is important to note that this test was not used in isolation for the determination of the President's current negative status."

He said: "Repeatedly negative antigen tests, taken in context with additional clinical and laboratory data, including viral load, subgeneric RNA and PCR cycle threshold measurements, as well as ongoing assessment of viral culture data, all indicate a lack of detectable viral replication.

"This comprehensive data, in concert with the CDC's guidelines for removal of transmission-based precautions, have informed our medical team's assessment that the President is not infectious to others."

President Trump has claimed in recent days that he had fully recovered from the virus within days of being admitted to hospital last week.

In fact, he has claimed to be "immune" to the disease.

The White House and the President's physicians have repeatedly refused to reveal when Trump's last negative test was before he came down with Covid-19.
