Donald Trump has revealed that the US military is building a “massive complex” underneath his White House ballroom.
Speaking to reporters on Air Force One on Sunday (29 March), the US president held up illustrations of the new 90,000-square-foot ballroom, which he demolished the East Wing last October to build.
“The military is building a massive complex under the ballroom, and that’s under construction, and we’re doing very well, so we’re ahead of schedule,” he said.
He said that the ballroom is “essentially a shed” for the bunker that they are building underneath. Mr Trump said the drone-proof facility is being fitted with “high-grade bulletproof glass”.
