Trump Reshares AI Image Depicting Himself with Jesus, Sparks Renewed Backlash

On Wednesday, Trump reshared an AI-generated image on his social media platform, Truth Social, originally posted by a supporter on X. The image depicted Jesus Christ embracing Trump. Accompanying the post, Trump wrote, “The Radical Left Lunatics might not like this, but I think it is quite nice!!!”

This comes shortly after a previous post on Sunday, where Trump shared another AI-generated image portraying himself in a Christ-like role. In that image, he appeared dressed in flowing robes, seemingly healing a sick man, with beams of light emanating from his hands. The scene also included symbolic patriotic elements such as the US flag, the Statue of Liberty, and eagles flying overhead.

The earlier post triggered swift and widespread backlash. Critics across the political spectrum condemned the imagery, with some far-right Christian voices labeling it as blasphemous, while liberal commentators described it as “egomaniacal behavior.” By Monday morning, the post had been removed from his Truth Social feed.

Responding to the criticism, Trump defended his actions, stating that the image was intended to depict him as a doctor. “I did post it, and I thought it was me as a doctor and it had to do with the Red Cross,” he said. He further added, “It’s supposed to be me as a doctor, making people better. And I do make people better. A lot better.”

Despite his explanation, Trump dismissed the backlash as “fake news,” even as the controversy continued to draw reactions from both supporters and critics alike.
