Donald Trump is reportedly considering granting Sean “Diddy” Combs a full presidential pardon ahead of the disgraced musician’s upcoming sentencing.
Almost two months after Trump floated the idea during an Oval Office press appearance, a full pardon for Combs is now “under serious consideration”, according to a White House source who spoke to Deadline.
Insiders claim Diddy’s associates have been begging the White House to release him for some time now, and it’s gone from “just another Trump weave to an actionable event” to a potential reality.

Deadline reached out to Combs’ legal team who confirmed that they had little involvement in contacting Trump, but rather it was Combs’ personal and professional allies.
When asked about the matter, an administration official responded that “the White House will not comment on the existence or nonexistence of any clemency request”.
Earlier this month, Combs received a partial conviction in his New York sex-trafficking trial. A Manhattan jury convicted Combs on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution after a seven-week trial, but he was cleared of the more serious charges, which could have meant life in prison.
Since his arrest last September, Combs has been repeatedly denied a $50 million bond and release from Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. At his October 3 sentencing, Judge Arun Subramanian could hand down a federal prison term of two to three years. Any sentence would take into account the time Combs has already served.
Despite federal prosecutors pushing for the maximum penalty under sentencing guidelines, his 10-lawyer defense team is widely expected to file an appeal almost immediately after the sentencing.
It comes after Trump was probed about whether or not he’d pardon Ghislaine Maxwell following her meeting with the Department of Justice.

As word spread of Maxwell’s extensive DOJ interviews, reporters put the pardon question directly to Trump. He replied, “It’s something I haven’t thought about.
“I’m allowed to do it, but it’s something I have not thought about.”
Pressed further, he said, “I don’t want to talk about that”, making it clear he wasn’t committing either way.
The president also expressed frustration that his name keeps coming up in connection to Epstein, insisting to reporters, “I have nothing to do with the guy”.
