On Sunday afternoon, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and U.S. President Donald Trump attended the final day of the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo.

As he entered the venue, Trump waved to the crowd of thousands of people, who stood up with cheers, holding smartphones and cameras to capture an image of the president.

At the awards presentation ceremony, Trump got into the ring and handed the "President's Cup," specially made for the occasion, to the winner, No. 8 maegashira Asanoyama.

"In honor of your outstanding achievement as sumo grand champion, I hereby award you the United States President's Cup," he said as he presented the cup.

The cup measures about 1.37 meters tall, weighs about 30 kilograms and is topped with a silver ornament of an eagle, the national bird of the United States.
