1. Trump: I was awesome last night
Donald Trump told a Nevada crowd that the vice-presidential debate Tuesday, in which his running mate, Mike Pence, repeatedly wriggled away from Democrat Tim Kaine, was a testament to … Trump.
'He's a good one'
Mike Pence did an incredible job and I’m getting a lot of credit, because that’s really my first so-called choice, that’s really my first hire, and I tell you, he’s a good one.
– Donald Trump
2. ‘He never said that’
What was Pence good at, exactly? Challenged to defend controversial Trump statements and positions, Pence repeatedly denied that Trump had said those things or staked out those positions.

We're all winners here
Some think I won last night's debate. I'll leave that to others. From where I sat, @realDonaldTrump's vision for America was the real winner

3. Poor ratings for debate
Preliminary figures indicated that the vice-presidential debate was the least-watched veep debate since 2000, with about 36m prime network and cable viewers, compared with 51m in 2012.
4. Trump in another Playboy video
Journalist Andrew Kaczynski, now of CNN, unearthed a 1994 videotape in which Trump participates in a hunt for Playboy magazine’s “40th anniversary playmate”. Trump asks a fully clothed model whether she has what it takes.
'I think you have what it takes'
Well, I think you have what it takes, too. And I think everyone in this room thinks you have what it takes also.

5. Bill Clinton not in love with Obamacare
The former president on Wednesday walked back comments he made Monday about Obamacare being “a crazy system”. Clinton said problems in the law were being exploited by “adversaries of healthcare”.
