1. Trump aide won’t be charged
Florida prosecutors decided not to charge Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski with battery after he manhandled a reporter. Lewandowski said he was “gratified”. The reporter is pursuing a defamation case, however.
But the loyal Lewandowksi has other troubles: his boss may be sidelining him. Trump hired Scott Walker’s former campaign manager on Wednesday as part of an emergency campaign overhaul.
2. Sanders crowd swamps Manhattan
Bernie Sanders drew 27,000 excited supporters to Washington Square last night for a dramatic show of force in rival Hillary Clinton’s backyard. She held a smaller rally in the Bronx.

4. Trump holds national lead – poll
Among Republicans, that is. Trump led Ted Cruz 42%-29% among Republican primary voters in a hypothetical national contest, a CBS News poll found. John Kasich came third with 18%.

There’s more good polling news for Trump in the north-eastern states that vote after New York. He’s up on Cruz 44-28 in Pennsylvania, a Monmouth poll found.
5. Obama to speak at Howard
The president will deliver this year’s commencement address at Howard University, the historically black college. The school called it an “extraordinary honor”.
