Trump news - live: President shares photo of Amy Coney Barrett as he champions SCOTUS lawsuit against election

Donald Trump called on the Supreme Court to have the "courage" to overturn the results of the election, repeating claims he won the key swing states that tipped the projected results in favour of Joe Biden.

The plea has so far fallen on of deaf ears with Scotus rejecting a last-ditch GOP challenge to the Pennsylvania results.

It comes as Texas attorney general Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court arguing that Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin should not be permitted to cast votes because the states unconstitutionally altered mail-in ballot voting procedures.

Speaking of "courage", the Arizona Republican Party asked supporters if they were willing to die to get Trump reelected as the GOP continued its rhetoric since the 3 November election.

Biden, meanwhile, backed a mask mandate at an event to reveal his nomination to the lead the US Department of Health and Human Services.
