Ex-White House counsel Don McGahn agrees to testify in Trump probe

Don McGahn, the Donald Trump-era White House Counsel who featured heavily in Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian interference during the 2016 election, is testifying before a Congressional committee.

Meanwhile, Facebook has announced it has banned the former president for at least the next two years – and will reinstate him only once the “risk to public safety has receded.”

Mr McGahn – who quit his White House role in 2018, some months after reportedly pushing back against the former president’s desire for the Justice Department to investigate his rivals Hillary Clinton and the former FBI director James Comey – is set to face the House Judiciary Committee as it probes whether the former president obstructed justice with efforts to thwart Mr Mueller’s investigation.
