Kansas is the latest traditionally Republican state where the party's presidential nominee Donald Trump has lost ground.
According to a poll conducted for KSN-TV in Wichita, Trump would get 44 percent of the vote compared to 39 percent for Hillary Clinton. That's 3 points down from what Trump received in KSN's July poll and Clinton was up 3 points.
Mitt Romney won the state in 2012 with almost 60 percent of the vote, while Barack Obama got 38 percent.
But Trump has not served as a drag on Republican Sen. Jerry Moran, the poll showed. Moran, who has declined to endorse Trump, is polling at 52 percent and his opponent Patrick Wiesner has only 32 percent of the vote.
