The Trump administration is currently planning to nominate Brent McIntosh, who serves as the Treasury Department's general counsel, to become Treasury's undersecretary for international affairs, according to two sources familiar with the decision.

The big picture: While the sources cautioned that a final decision has not been made, McIntosh would replace David Malpass, who President Trump nominated last month to head the World Bank, as one of Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin's top advisers on international economic issues. He previously held positions in George W. Bush's White House and the Justice Department, specializing in national security and intelligence matters, according to his Treasury bio.
