President Donald Trump is no stranger to candid camera moments, but when it comes to his latest TIME magazine cover, he’s not taking it on the chin — or, apparently, at a flattering angle.
In a late-night Truth Social post, Trump wrote, “The picture may be the Worst of All Time. They ‘disappeared’ my hair, and then had something floating on top of my head that looked like a crown — but an extremely small one. Really weird!”
Trump was especially annoyed by the photo’s angle, adding, “I never liked taking pictures from underneath… but this is a super bad picture and deserves to be called out. What are they doing, and why?”

The magazine’s cover story, titled “His Triumph”, hails Trump’s success in brokering a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, calling it “a potential signature achievement of Trump’s second term”.
The ceasefire itself has already hit turbulence. Although hostages on both sides are slowly being released and Israeli forces have partially pulled out of urban Gaza, Hamas have accused Israel of violating the deal as drone strikes and gunfire reportedly killed at least five Palestinians who tried to check on their homes. The IDF claimed they’d crossed ceasefire lines in breach of the agreement.
But for Trump, the image — a low-angle shot with sunlight behind his head — seems to be the crisis he is most concerned about.

Trump’s not new to feuding over creative choices. In March, he slammed a “purposefully distorted” portrait in the Colorado State Capitol, and in years past, he’s called out networks and news outlets for supposedly picking the worst possible photos of him.
Still, while Trump didn’t love the “floating crown” or the vanished hair, he acknowledged (in the same breath), the piece was “a relatively good story”.
The man might be leading international peace talks — but bad lighting remains the ultimate enemy.
