Trump is gifted a World Cup jersey with ‘47’ on the back at G7 summit

  • President Donald Trump is meeting with world leaders at the G7 Summit in France this week and one of them presented him with a belated birthday gift.
  • “Happy belated 80th birthday,” German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said after presenting Trump with the German national team football jersey. “After all, we're on the same team.”
  • Photos showed Trump smiling up at Merz as he held the Germany jersey, complete with “Trump” and the number 47 on the back, during a working session of world leaders related to Russia’s war on Ukraine.
  • Trump celebrated his 80th birthday Sunday by attending a UFC cage fighting match on the White House South Lawn.
  • He jetted to the summit after the match and has been meeting with world leaders to discuss the Iran peace deal and Ukraine war, among other pressing international topics.
