Jamie Raskin, lead Democratic impeachment manager in the Senate trial of Donald Trump, has challenged the former president to testify under oath in a letter sent on Thursday, further heating up the war of words between the two camps.
If Mr Trump were to accept the challenge, he would then face a cross-examination process during the impeachment hearing.
Lawyers of the former president were also accused of producing "14 pages of circuitous logic and rambling paeans to America" by MSNBC pundit Hayes Brown, who summarised their misspelled filing as "cringeworthy at best", but hit back by insisting the prosecution is "ill-advised" and "undemocratic".
This comes as Mr Trump has spoken out against reports that the Screen Actors Guild was considering expelling his membership due to the Capitol riots. In response to the reports, the former president claimed he didn't care. "You have done nothing for me," he said.
