Trump hid in catering cart during ‘surreal’ escape from Turkey

President Donald Trump was secretly transferred off Air Force One onto a smaller military plane during his return from July’s Nato summit in Ankara, Turkey.
The covert operation was executed using a hydraulic catering cart, following intelligence warnings of a potential Iranian assassination threat targeting Trump.
Press and White House personnel were kept unaware of the switch, believing that Trump remained aboard the primary aircraft as it flew to RAF Mildenhall in the UK.
White House communications director Steven Cheung said that all available tools are used to address threats against the president.
Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal has demanded a congressional inquiry into the covert operation, describing the incident as “unprecedented” and “surreal”.
