Trump gave Queen horse statue on Windsor visit - and Philip got a fishing rod

Donald Trump gave the Queen a pewter horse statuette on his visit to Windsor.

It is not recorded how Her Majesty responded to the gift from the billionaire president. Nor is it known what 97-year-old Prince Philip said about his prezzie – a fishing rod.

The offerings, presented in July when Trump dropped in for tea, were among many odd gifts revealed by Buckingham Palace yesterday. Others included a pound of salt – traditional rent from the governor of the British Virgin Islands – and a framed picture of a Jersey cow.

Harry and Meghan got scores of cuddly toys, clothes and homemade blankets ahead of the birth of their first child while Wills and Kate’s dog Lupo benefited from pet grooming equipment given during a visit to Sweden.

Every year, the Royal Family receive dozens of gifts from well-wishers across the world.

Some of the more mainstream items include framed pictures of themselves, native ornaments or items of clothing.

While others are a little more bizarre - like the Queen 's personal gift of a Lego post box, or Meghan and Harry's gift of a child's wet suit.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex received masses of gifts during 2018, many given to them on their first royal tour as a married couple.

At the start of their tour, and on the same day they landed in Australia, Meghan and Harry announced they were expecting their first child.

They went on to receive dozens of baby-themed gifts, including clothes and soft toys.
