US President Donald Trump reiterated on Thursday that a CIA report leaked by The Washington Post on the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi is based on expectations and not facts.
They didn’t make a determination, said Trump about the CIA.
He said media were guilty of “false reporting” on the agency's assessment of the Khashoggi case.
He also reiterated that the report hasn’t accused the Saudi Crown Prince.
Trump, on holiday at his Florida Mar-a-Lago Club, said: “I hate the crime, I hate the coverup. I will tell you this: The crown prince hates it more than I do.”
He also stressed that Washington "intends to remain a steadfast partner” with Riyadh.
Trump said Tuesday that the US “relationship is with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
