Trump defends y-u-u-uge losses as 'sport' slams 'Fake News hit job' on taxes

The Donald says he's got game _ even though he lost more than $1 billion.

President Trump defended as "sport" the giant losses he reported on his taxes and lashed out at the New York Times for running a story he called "Fake News hit job."

"You always wanted to show losses for tax purposes," he wrote.

Trump's unusually factual response suggests the Gray Lady got under his skin with the expose, which undercut his claim of business acumen that was a key selling point of his upset 2016 presidential win.

He has refused to release any of his tax returns.

Democrats are demanding the last six years of Trump's 1040's under a law that appears to give the White House no wiggle room. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has refused to hand over the returns, leading to a standoff with Congress that will likely wind up in court.
