Trump Declines To Urge Supporters Against Violence In Case Of Election Loss

Former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate Trump meets with supporters in West Palm Beach

Former President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that he does not believe he needs to instruct his supporters to refrain from violence or to accept the election results if he loses. When asked if he would advise against violence, Trump responded, “I don’t have to tell them that,” asserting that his supporters are not violent individuals.

Pressed further on the issue, he reiterated, “Of course there’ll be no violence. My supporters are not violent people. I don’t have to tell them. And I certainly don’t want any violence, but I certainly don’t have to tell them. These are great people who believe in nonviolence. Unlike your question, which implies violence.”

He insists his supporters are not violent and "believe in nonviolence."
Trump believes he doesn't need to tell supporters to avoid violence if he loses the election.
Trump declined to say if he would declare victory regardless of the election results after voting in Palm Beach.

It's important to note that Trump’s supporters were involved in the violent storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, as they attempted to overturn the 2020 election results after his loss. When asked if he would declare victory regardless of the election outcome, Trump did not provide a response. He had just cast his vote in Palm Beach on Election Day before addressing reporters.
