Trump declares Wednesday a day of mourning for Bush

WASHINGTON _ President Donald Trump announced Saturday that he and his wife, Melania, will attend the funeral Wednesday at National Cathedral for George H.W. Bush, the 41st president, who died Friday night at age 94.

Trump also declared Wednesday to be a national day of mourning for Bush.

"The President and First Lady were notified late last night of President George H.W. Bush's passing," White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said from Buenos Aires, where Trump is attending the Group of 20 summit. "President Trump is scheduled to speak with President George W. Bush this morning and offer his condolences on behalf of himself, the first lady, and the entire country."
