Donald Trump said he could “hardly hear” opponents chant “vote him out!” as he stood beside the casket of late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Thursday morning, claiming he was too far away to make out what the crowd was saying.Meantime, though the president has not talked to the family of Breonna Taylor, he said he sends his regards to her family and called her death in a police shootout with her boyfriend a sad situation.

On Thursday morning, Mr Trump and First Lady Melania Trump stood atop the high court steps beside Ms Ginsburg’s casket. A few seconds after they emerged, the crowd outside was silent .

Then came a chorus of boos. Mr Trump, wearing a dark blue mask, stood motionless.

The crowd then chanted “vote him out!”

The president and first lady stood in their spots for a few more seconds before turning and heading back inside the high court.

Later, during a press briefing at the White House, press secretary Kayleigh McEnany criticized those chanting.

“Everyone has a First Amendment in this country, biut I thought it was an appalling and disrespectful thing to do while the president was honouring Justice Ginsburg,” she said.
