Trump confident in victory, dismisses competition, touts economic success

Former Governor of New Jersey drops out of race for President.

In a recent interview, former President Donald Trump addressed breaking campaign news and shared his views on various topics. The former governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie, dropped out of the race in New Hampshire, leading to speculation about a potential combining of forces among his supporters. However, Trump seemed unfazed, citing his significant lead in the polls.

Trump expressed confidence in his ability to win in New Hampshire, a state he claimed to understand well, having won it twice before. He emphasized the economic and military improvements he made during his presidency, which he believes gained him support among the people of New Hampshire. Although he acknowledged that the state allows independents and Democrats to vote in the Republican primary, potentially altering the outcome, Trump maintained that he would still win substantially.

The former president addressed concerns raised by a questioner, an optometrist and veteran, who expressed gratitude for Trump's support of veterans. The questioner also mentioned friends who had supported Trump in 2020 but were now hesitant due to concerns about potential chaos caused by Trump's detractors. In response, Trump highlighted what he perceived as chaos under the current administration, particularly at the border and in international relations. He argued that most of the chaos during his presidency was fueled by Democrats' constant attacks, citing examples such as the Russia investigation and FISA warrants.

Trump touted his administration's achievements, including large tax cuts, significant deregulation, and no new wars during his tenure. He claimed that the negative narratives about his presidency were attempts to distract from the current administration's shortcomings, particularly regarding the border and the economy.

Regarding his potential legal troubles, Trump referred to them as a 'witch hunt' and 'election interference' orchestrated by President Joe Biden. He criticized the prosecution of his allies and suggested that the numbers for some of his opponents, such as Ron DeSantis, were declining, indicating their poor performance in the race.

Trump confidently mentioned leading Biden in recent polls, including in states like Michigan. He highlighted the backlash he believed Biden would face for his plans regarding electric cars, claiming that autoworkers were wary of job losses and outsourcing to China.

Overall, the former president displayed unwavering confidence in his candidacy, expressing his belief that he had made significant strides during his tenure and was well-positioned to win the Republican nomination and secure a victory in the general election.
