Trump Claims He Fell Out With Jeffrey Epstein Because He 'Stole People That Worked' For Him

President Donald Trump

President Donald Trump said on Monday that he fell out with disgraced financier and abuser Jeffrey Epstein because he "stole people that worked" for him.

Speaking to press in Scotland, Trump said Epstein's behavior was "inappropriate." "He hired help and I said don't ever do that again. He stole people that worked for me. I said don't ever do that again. He did it again and I threw him out of the place. Persona non grata. And I'm glad I did," Trump added.

Trump has been looking to dismiss any relations with Epstein despite recent developments, including reports by The Wall Street Journal about him writing him a letter for his 50th birthday, as well as outrage from his MAGA base due to the Department of Justice's decision to conclude its investigation, determining he died by suicide and had no client list.

He has recently called questions and reports about his relationship with him a hoax orchestrated by Democrats to score political points against him. In another passage of his interaction with the press pool, Trump said he never had the "privilege" of flying to the island owned by Epstein, where many abuses against minors are alleged to have taken place.

"Bill Clinton went there, supposedly 28 times. Larry Summers, I hear, he was the head of Harvard. Never had the privilege of going to his island. And I did turn it down. But a lot of people in Palm Beach were invited to his island," he said.

The Independent noted earlier this year that a criminal complaint from the attorney general of the U.S. Virgin Islands described the island as the "perfect hideaway and haven for trafficking young women and underage girls for sexual servitude, child abuse and sexual assault."

"Epstein and his associates could avoid detection of their illegal activity from Virgin Islands and federal law enforcement, and prevent these young women and underage girls from leaving freely and escaping the abuse," reads a passage of the complaint.

The outlet added that the island was featured in the trial against Epstein's longtime associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022.

Ghislaine Maxwell is dominating headlines at the moment, especially after meeting with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche last week.

Her attorney, David Markus, told ABC News that Maxwell was questioned about "maybe 100 different people," noting that "she didn't hold anything back."

While Markus emphasized that his client did not offer information in exchange for leniency, Maxwell was reportedly granted limited immunity, which is contingent on whether she tells the truth, NBC News reported.
