Trump claims he could reopen Strait of Hormuz on Monday in ‘humanitarian gesture’

  • The declaration followed the president’s earlier statement about a “possibility” of ordering renewed strikes against Iran.
  • Iran's military issued a warning to the U.S. against such actions, declaring it retains security control over the Strait of Hormuz.
  • Senior Iranian lawmaker Ibrahim Azizi cautioned that U.S. involvement in managing shipping through the strait would constitute a ceasefire violation.
