Trump claims DC crime ‘out of control’ as former DOGE staffer attacked

  • The incident occurred at 3am on Sunday when a group of juveniles allegedly approached Coristine and an unnamed woman and attacked him.
  • Police intervened, leading to the arrest of two 15-year-olds, a male and a female, who were subsequently charged with unarmed carjacking.
  • The president's threat to take federal control of D.C. comes despite a reported 35 per cent drop in violent crime in the city during 2024.
