Trump claims ‘Cuba is coming our way’ during North Dakota speech

US president Donald Trump claimed “Cuba is coming our way” while recalling an anecdote about Roosevelt's heroism during the Battle of San Juan Hill.

Trump made the claim as he spoke about improving ties with the island nation and iscussed broader foreign policy issues, during a speech at the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in North Dakota on Wednesday (1 July).

His comments come as he was criticizing Spain for its Nato commitments.

“Soon after they relinquish their grip on Cuba and Guam, the Philippines and Puerto Rico, and they were all ours. We got them all”, he said.
