Trump cancels press conference planned for anniversary of Capitol riots

PALM BEACH, Fla. — Former President Donald Trump canceled a press conference scheduled at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday, the one-year anniversary of the riots at the U.S. Capitol.

Trump said through a statement that he instead will discuss what he would have said at a rally in Arizona on Jan. 15.

Trump said the decision was made in "light of the total bias and dishonesty of the January 6th Unselect Committee of Democrats, two failed Republicans, and the Fake News Media."

Not clear is the status of two other Jan. 6 events planned for Thursday afternoon and evening. First, a pro-Trump organization plans a street rally along Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach. And on Thursday evening, a progressive Democratic caucus has said it will host a candlelight vigil.
