Boris Johnson wrote that Barack Obama may have removed a Churchill bust from the Oval office owing to “the part-Kenyan president’s ancestral dislike of the British empire.”
Obama grappled with that on a visit to London. “I love Winston Churchill, love the guy” he said. He said he moved Churchill to make way for somebody called Martin Luther King, Jr.

3. Cruz says transgender restroom access ‘not safe’
Ted Cruz bet heavily on Friday that the issue of transgender access to whatever bathroom was a loser for Trump, who thinks people should use “the bathroom that they feel is appropriate.”

4. Virginia restores felons’ voting rights
Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe, a close Clinton friend, took action to enable as many 200,000 former felons to vote, reversing civil war-era provisions faulted for disenfranchising African Americans.
5. Latino voters loathe Trump – poll
The polling group Latino Decisions measured favorability of Trump among registered Latino voters at 9/87 – or negative 78%. Clinton was at +29 and Obama was at +50.
