Boris Johnson wrote that Barack Obama may have removed a Churchill bust from the Oval office owing to “the part-Kenyan president’s ancestral dislike of the British empire.”

2. Nation holds breath for Trump 2.0

Top Donald Trump aide Paul Manafort told Republican party bosses at a closed-door meeting in Florida that the candidate has been “projecting an image” – “playing” a “part” that “is now evolving.”

4. Virginia restores felons’ voting rights

Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe, a close Clinton friend, took action to enable as many 200,000 former felons to vote, reversing civil war-era provisions faulted for disenfranchising African Americans.

5. Latino voters loathe Trump – poll

The polling group Latino Decisions measured favorability of Trump among registered Latino voters at 9/87 – or negative 78%. Clinton was at +29 and Obama was at +50.
