- Donald Trump reportedly received a high-level briefing on new military options against Iran from Centcom commander Admiral Brad Cooper and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine on Thursday.
- Options discussed included potential “short and powerful” strikes on Iranian infrastructure and an operation to control parts of the Strait of Hormuz, Axios reported.
- A special forces mission to secure Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile was also reportedly among the options considered.
- Earlier, Trump claimed the US had “already won” the war in Iran, saying he wanted to win by a “bigger margin” and had “destroyed” their military and leadership.
- Despite his assertions of victory, the Iranian blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is continuing.
