A journalist who has biographed the life of President Donald Trump has revealed that media outlets are avoiding publishing his work detailing the 47th President's friendship with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Author and journalist Michael Wolff revealed that he had been turned away by numerous publishers who were apprehensive about publicizing the story of Trump and Epstein's friendship.

"I have had discussion after discussion after discussion with media outlets about these tapes," Wolff said, "and it always comes to, you know, 'Life is too short and this is too hot to handle.' And these are ... a list of major media organizations."

The reveal was made during Wolff's appearance on The Court of History podcast on Saturday, while in conversation with Clinton aide turned Lincoln biographer Sidney Blumenthal and Princeton historian Sean Wilentz.

"Once when I was in Mar-a-Lago, I went to see [Trump] and have a sit down with him. His aides just asked me a rough outline of what I wanted to talk about. I had a lot of subjects but I also said Epstein. They said "If you ask about that, he'll just stop the interview and you won't get anything." This person said "I really recommend you not ask that if you hope for this interview to go on."," Wolff further detailed.

Wolff possesses "hours and hours and hours and hours and hours" of Epstein discussing Trump and his relationship with him, containing content many view as incredibly controversial considering recent developments with Epstein's case. The recordings were created in 2017, when Wolff met with Epstein in order to discuss details of the financier's life for his own biography. Epstein died by alleged suicide two years later.

Wolff later released an excerpt tape of the interview with Epstein which he described as a small part of "100 hours of Epstein talking about the inner workings of the Trump White House and about his longstanding, deep relationship with Donald Trump".
