Trump baby blimp makes first appearance in Ireland ahead of Dublin protest this evening

The infamous Donald Trump baby blimp has made its first appearance in Ireland ahead of a planned protest in Dublin this evening.

The six-metre tall blimp first appeared at protests against the US President in London last year.

The blimp is currently at the Garden of Rememberance ahead of a demonstration that is set to start at 6pm.

Organisers of the protest have been given special permission to fly the blimp by the Irish Aviation Authority.

The demonstration takes place as President Trump spends two days in Ireland at his hotel and golf resort in Doonbeg.

The President has been accompanied on his trip by First Lady Melania and his sons Eric and Donald Jnr.

The two brothers visited four different pubs in the Co Clare village last night.

Eric later described the locals as "the best neighbours in the world".

He told RTE's Morning Ireland: "You see the support it is incredible. It is simply incredible. The whole town showed up and we’ve done a lot for Doonbeg.

"We love Doonbeg. We saved a great hotel. We love the people in this town and they love us...It is amazing.

"I have being watching news all over the world and we have people from Doonbeg on TV saying Trumps are great - they’re the best.

"We have the best neighbours in the world and we love them. We appreciate them. To see the turnout is nothing short of incredible."
