Donald Trump attended the Army-Navy football game on Saturday after a morning spent complaining about the election results on Twitter.
The president was cheered by the crowd at the game held at the Military Academy in West Point, New York.
Mr Trump was greeted by Army and Navy officers before walking to the middle of the field for the traditional coin toss.
The president was noticeably the only person on the field not to wear a mask, despite soaring Covid cases around the country.
Mr Trump was later seen wearing a black mask as he watched the game with Cadets in the stands.
It was the first time in 77 years that Army hosted Navy on its campus with the game normally held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
But virus restrictions on outdoor events would have prevented the entire Corps of Cadets and Brigade of Midshipmen from attending if the game was held in the city so it was moved.
It is the third year in a row that Mr Trump has attended the game, which saw 4,300 Cadets and 4,300 Midshipmen watching on.
Mr Trump started his Saturday by railing against attorney general Bill Barr on Twitter for reportedly covering up a federal tax probe of Hunter Biden during the election.
The president had made the issue a central one in his campaign and attacked Mr Barr for apparently keeping the investigation from the public eye.
Mr Trump then attacked the Supreme Court for unanimously dismissing the Texas attorney general’s lawsuit to try and throw out Joe Biden’s election win in four battleground lawsuits.
As he headed out of town to the game, the president’s Marine One helicopter flew over thousands of his supporters at a “Stop the Steal” rally in Washington DC.
