1. June boon for Trump camp

The Donald Trump campaign announced it had raised $26m in June and the last week of May. Hillary Clinton raised $40.5m in June. But Trump’s number was about 10 times better than his previous high.

Trump trails in ad spending

Clinton was outspending Trump 15-1 on TV ads, however. While Clinton and allied Super Pacs have spent $45m, Trump and allies have only spent $2.8m, according to SMG Delta/NBC News.

2. Clinton tours scenic Atlantic City

Clinton gave a speech outside the former Trump Plaza hotel and casino in Atlantic City, saying Trump has made millions for himself as his businesses went bankrupt, killing jobs and stranding creditors.

3. The art of the bankruptcy

Bankruptcies, Trump replied, “ultimately save jobs”. “I have used the chapter laws of our country in four instances, much as many of our country’s elite business people do,” he said. “Nobody understands the economy like I do.”

Two senators touted as potential Trump running mates, Bob Corker and Joni Ernst, graciously withdrew from consideration today. “I’m far more suited for other types of things,” Corker said.
