- The levy was revealed during a meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook in the Oval Office.
- It is expected to increase the cost of electronic goods and household appliances and will apply to all countries.
- However, companies that have committed to or are currently building chip manufacturing facilities within the US will be exempt from the tariff.
